The New York Yankees won the AL Championship Series over the Los Angeles Angels 4 games to 1. Over in the NL, the Los Angeles Dodgers won the NL pennant by defeating the Chicago Cubs 4 games to 3.
The 2009 World Series between LA and NY will start Friday night in New York. The Yankees get home field advantage because the AL won this years All Star Game.
