Tommy Bridges came through with a solid 9 innings at Navin Field as the

Detroit Tigers beat the New York Yankees 4 to 0.

New York never recovered after Detroit took the lead in the 2nd inning scoring

one runner. That early run support was enough for Bridges(20-10) and

Detroit. Detroit rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon.

Lefty Gomez(22-9) was given the loss. Detroit continued their winning ways,

with their streak now at 6 games and counting. 'I'm glad to get the win',

Bridges said. 'We've got some good momentum going now.'
