1934 AL Replay- July 1, Det. at St.L

July 1, 1934

The Detroit Tigers have been really struggling for awhile now, going 12-15 in June, falling into 2nd place in the AL and dropping the first 2 games of this series against the Browns, but they roared back today with an 18-1 victory and a fine pitching performance from Schoolboy Rowe. The Tigers banged out 21 hits in the win but it was Rowe on the mound that was the story of the day. He carried a no-hitter into the 8th inning before St. Louis got their 1st hit and broke up the shutout bid. Schoolboy finished with a 2-hitter, walking 1 and striking out 7 while getting his 8th win of the season.
